Adeleke University Offers 18-Year Old Girl Rape’d By UNILAG Lecturer Admission

The management of Adeleke University, Ede in Osun State, has offered the 18-year old girl who was seeking admission in UNILAG but got raped by a part-time lecturer of the institution, Mr Akin Baruwa. The school management said they got touched that she wanted to further her education but got raped instead. We are willing to grant her admission, the VCProf. O.O.G Amusan said.

Fake Police Officer Arrested In Ibadan

This fake police officer, Olayinka Micheal, was arrested by the Ogun state police command while posing as an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) attached to Agodi Area Command, Ibadan, Oyo state on August 10th.

Luck ran out on him after some police officers patrolling Iwo Road shopping Complex Ibadan sighted him trying to effect an arrest. Curious to know what was going on, the police officers approached him and in the course of their discussion, found out he was a fake police officer.

He was immediately arrested. Items found on him included a fake police warrant card and a portrait of the suspect in full police uniform with the rank of an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP 1) He is expected to appear in court soon.

Man Owes Blind Landlord 3-years’ Rent, Sets Building On Fire

A tenant has thrown decorum to the wind as he owed his blind landlord three years and six months’ rent after which he set the house ablaze, in Ajegunle area of Lagos State.  LEADERSHIP Friday gathered that the tenant, identified as Dominic Udo was owing his blind landlord rent.  The landlord, identified as Richard was said to have reported the matter at the Citizen Mediation Centre, in Amukoko.  Both Udo and Richard were invited to the centre, on August 5, 2015.  On August 7, 2015, Udo was alleged to have put fire on a candle and left. The fire ignited his room in the evening but was put out by residents in the area.  The residents suspected that Udo would have done that based on the fact that the landlord took him to the centre after which he promised to quit the residence.  Richard, who wanted to eject the tenant from the building situated at Young Lane, for his defiant behaviour went to Ajegunle police station and made a report, yesterday.  A resident, Mama Nkiru said, “The tenant had no human sympathy. How could a man, who is a commercial motorcycle rider live in a house for over three years without paying his landlord a dime? It is wickedness. He should be ashamed of himself. We are suspecting that he set the building ablaze himself because the landlord took him to the Citizen Mediation Centre. “

 Lagos Primary School Proprietor Charged With Rape Of 2 Pupils.

A primary school proprietor, Joseph Ogunleye, was on Thursday charged before a Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos over alleged defilement of two pupils in his school.
Ogunleye, 56, whose address is unknown, is standing trial on a charge of defilement.
According to the prosecutor, Insp. Rita Momah, the accused committed the offense on June 27 at Ijegun, Ikotun, Lagos.
She alleged that the accused unlawfully defiled an eight-year-old girl and a 10-year-old girl who were pupils in his school.

“A nearby shop owner heard the two girls telling their friends about how their school proprietor touched their private parts and that they cannot tell their parents.
“The 10-year-old explained how the accused had canal knowledge of her, while the 8-year-old also admitted that he did the same thing to her.
Ogunleye, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Mrs O.A. Erinle, granted bail to the accused in the sum of N500,000, with two sureties in like sum.
The case was adjourned till Oct. 26 for trial.

Oyo PDP Secretariat Up For Sale

 Oyo PDP Situation worsen  as secretariat is put up for sale

    The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo state is not a strongly united house. But I was surprised last evening when I found out that the state secretariat of the party located at Mokola area – very close to the University College Hospital Ibadan, has been put up for sale or lease by a real estate company.

    Two things came to my mind – could this really mark the end of PDP in Oyo state or is the party moving to a much bigger facility?

    The party in the state has a ending internal crisis that many believe was responsible for its dismal failure during the last general elections in the state. The Oyo PDP primaries for the 2015 governorship elections led to the exit of several strong (and rich) members of the party including Engineer Seyi Makinde who joined the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and former governor Adebayo Alao Akala who later became the flag bearer of the Labour Party (LP).
    Rashidi Ladoja of Accord Party was also a strong member of the PDP until he abandoned the party.
    With the secretariat now up for sale, one begins to ask what happens to the party, where will the meetings be held and who is the Leader of the party in the state?

    Many questions begging for answers. But I have none for now.
